fire retardant division
a completely new product has arrived!! Bolt Mechanical, Inc. Is Proud To Announce Our New Fire Retardant Division & GreenFire® Products!
A New And Truly Innovative Fire Retardant Foam Replacement. one key feature, contains no PFOS or PFOA, which have been found to be harmful.
first of all, what is foam? & Why Is GreenFire® Going To Replace Harmful Foams?
what is fire fighting foam ?
Firefighting foam is a foam used for fire suppression. Its role is to cool the fire and to coat the fuel. this prevents contact with oxygen, resulting in suppression of the combustion. Fire-fighting foam was invented by the Russian engineer and chemist Aleksandr Loran in 1902.[1]

“Many Persons Today Do Not Know Of A New Ban On Dangerous Fire Fighting Foam Products. GreenFire® is a fire retardant foam replacement. But What Are They And What Is The Advantages Or Disadvantages? what now?”
ENVIRONMENTAL and Health concerns
Studies have shown that PFOS is a persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic pollutant.[7][8] It was added to Annex B of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants in May 2009.[9] Regulations in the United States, Canada, European Union, Australia, and Japan have banned the new production of PFOS-based products, including fire fighting foams.[10] Due To Toxicity Concerns,[11] 3M phased out production of PFOS in 2002.
at home and abroad
One study, published in 2015, found that firefighters were more likely to have fluorinated surfactants in their blood stream.[12] In 2016, the United States Air Force paid $4.3 million for a water treatment system for residents downstream of Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado.[13][14]
In Australia, 2015 public safety announcement was issued by the New South Wales Environment Protection Authority following a water source contamination near RAAF Base Williamtown. Surface water, ground water and fish were reported to contain chemicals from firefighting foams. they had been released by the local Royal Australia Air Force base prior to training protocol changes in 2008.[17] The residents of the area were advised to not consume any bore water, in addition to eggs and seafood from fauna exposed to the contaminated water.[18] The discovery led to the banning of all forms of fishing in the waters of Fullerton Cove until the beginning of October 2016.[19][20]
WHY IT WILL REPLACE HARMFUL FOAMS?
we have a choice,
GreenFire® has come to the market! replaces afff!
GreenFire® Technology is just that, GREEN! it is the worlds first truly green fire fighting product, and it’s FOOD SAFE!! approved by the National Sanitation Foundation, no other fire fighting product has done that! tested under the nFPA 18 Wetting agent & the underwriters laboratory 711 guidelines. Does not contain PFOS or PFOA & a Fire Retardant Foam Replacement.
the world’s safest, most effective fire extinguishing agent & 100% Green. tested proven to exceed Environmental Safety industry standards. GreenFire® provides fast, complete extinguishment of any burning product. increased Firefighter safety with less exposure to fire, minimized water usage, and reduced fire damage.
extinguishing classes A-B type fires (c class march 2020), GreenFire® is the one product that does it all, acting not only as a fire suppressant but also as flame retardant.
uses 20% the amount of water required by other products. penetrating the agent, allowing it to last longer. this increases the absorption of GreenFire® into any fuel, and prevents re-ignition.
USDA/ NSF International FoodSafe, FM approval pending, Tested to UL standards, NFPA 18 Standards and 100% Green.
GreenFire® is free of:
- Perfluorooctane Sulfonate (PFOS) & Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA).
- Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF)
Extremly unique fluid properties allow it to flow cleanly and easily through pumps and hoses while simultaneously clinging to targeted surfaces:
GreenFire® belongs to a unique class of fluids called non-Newtonian fluids. These fluids are able to change viscosity depending on their circumstances. In the case of GreenFire® it is called a shear-thinning fluid. What this means is that when it is in a high shear environment (such as passing through a hose or a pump) the viscosity drops, nearly to that of plain water. This allows it to flow easily with minimal pressure loss. After it exits the hose and lands on its target surface the viscosity increases again to become closer to that of maple syrup. This allows for greatly enhanced extinguishing capabilities while minimizing runoff.
Remarkable cooling and penetrative capabilities: The Leidenfrost effect is a phenomenon in which a droplet of water is unable to make physical contact with its target surface due to a steam barrier that forms between them. The proprietary blend of wetting agents contained in GreenFire® allow it to break through this steam barrier and provide immediate cooling to even the hottest surfaces. These properties allow for much faster fire knockdown and use of up to 90% less water.
“NSF International Recommends Simply Using A Mild Cleanser And Water To Make Any Surface Covered With GreenFire® Safe For Food Preparation.”

The NSF Mark
the product has been tested by one of the most respected independent certification organizations in existence today. It is valued by consumers, manufacturers, retailers and regulatory agencies worldwide.
Creates a strong durable foam: The proprietary blend of surfactants in GreenFire® allow its foam to be stable and effective under a wide range of circumstances. Not just in backyard ‘fair weather tests” but in the actual scalding conditions of a fire.
Excellent retardant capabilities: While there are many products on the marked that create foams and help break through the steam barrier, GreenFire® is unique in its ability to provide retardant capabilities as well. When sprayed onto wood, cloth, paper, or other combustible material, Greenfire® provides protection from ignition for weeks, months or even years into the future. The cooling effect of GreenFire® removes heat from the fire triangle, the foam generating capabilities remove oxygen from the fire triangle, and the retardant capabilities are able to render the fuel itself unburnable: effectively eliminating the third leg of the fire triangle. This retardant capability functions even long after all the moisture has evaporated away. a true Fire Retardant Foam Replacement.
“These Properties Allow For Much Faster Fire Knockdown And Use Of Up To 80% Less Water.”

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is an international nonprofit organization. It is devoted to eliminating death, injury, property and economic loss. causes range from fire, electrical and related hazards.
GreenFire® is proven safe for humans, animals, and the environment: To our knowledge, GreenFire® is the only fire suppressant ever to be certified with the National Sanitation Foundation. GreenFire® can be used in any agricultural or food service location without fear of massive contamination or extraordinary clean-up measures. NSF international recommends simply using a mild cleanser and water to make any surface covered with GreenFire® safe for food preparation. This obviously has an unparalleled advantage when considering its use in facilities such as schools, hospitals, care facilities, universities, and other institution that have cafeterias or break rooms.
Besides the direct application to use in food preparation areas, this certification clearly shows third party verification that GreenFire® is more than safe for use in homes, offices, and other areas where people may be concerned about their exposure to fire fighting chemicals. Fire fighters have enough dangers to face in the field. that’s more reason enough for a Fire Retardant Foam Replacement. We take pride in the fact that when using GreenFire® their health is not at risk from their own fire suppression agents.
Fully Tested and Approved- In August of 2018 GreenFire® passed the entire gamut of tests required for both class A and class B fire suppression at an NFPA approved testing facility. This testing facility is also recognized by UL.
“….For Both Class A And Class B Fire Suppression At An NFPA Approved Testing Facility. This Testing Facility Is Also Recognized By UL.”

UL is approved to perform safety testing by the U.S. federal agency Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).[5] OSHA maintains a list of approved testing laboratories, which are known as Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories.[6]
