Site Inspection

The first step for this job was to carefully inspect the issue at hand. A team of technicians drove to the worksite and studied the new HVAC plans and how it would affect the sprinkler systems already installed.

Challenges

This particular Kingdom Hall had outdated HVAC systems that were disrupting the comfort of attendees. In order to accommodate the new HVAC ducting, the ceiling needed to be lowered throughout the whole building. The existing fire sprinkler system also had to be modified to accommodate the new HVAC payout.

Solution

The solution was simple: in order to provide a functioning fire sprinkler system we needed to lengthen the existing fire sprinkler drops to accommodate the new ceiling height.

First we added some new connections, allowing us to add onto the existing length of the pipes. Some piping also needed to be relocated to accommodate the new HVAC ducting. Once the HVAC ducting was fully installed, the suspended ceiling was put into place. When the main ceiling was installed we were able to establish the exact length of the pipes needed. Once the pipes were cut to the specific length we reattached the sprinkler heads.
